Newb Question 4: How do you texture/material a circle mesh?

I made a circle mesh and added texture/material - but nothing seems
to work. It works for a plane mesh....but not a circle....

When you create a circle mesh, unlike with a plane, there are no faces,
and that's why you don't see the material. So, what you have to do is
either a) go into edit mode, select all, and then type Shift-F, or b)
you can select each group of four vertices (rectangular polys) and face
them individually using the F key. If you use Shift-F, it might be a
good idea to do an Alt-J right afterward to convert all the triangles to
four-sided polys (some people are very particular about this, since
triangular polys sometimes produce weird artifacts when rendering).
